VBS: Even if it is a small group, we have something in the summer for VBS. Please see caption below.

Summer Church Camp: There are several camps offered at Camp Kum-Ba-Ya every summer starting as early as 1st grade.

Trunk or Treat: Each year close to Halloween, we have a “Trunk or Treat” in our church parking lot in which anyone is welcome to join us and also enjoy a hot dog dinner with us!

Hanging of the Greens: The children participate in bringing in the majority of the greens & items that we decorate our church with each year on this particular Sunday.

Children’s Group: We are hoping to start having regular children's groups soon. If you child would like to participate please call Machel.

Annual & Ongoing Events for Youth ( 6th grade-12th grade )

West Area “Ski Thing”: The last weekend of January all of the West Area Christian Church’s youth travel to Owensboro on that Friday evening to our sister church for activities & fellowship. We stay the night at the church and all get up Saturday morning to travel to Paoli Peaks and snow ski for the day. We return late that Saturday evening.

Youth Work Retreat: Typically in the spring we have a free overnight stay at Camp Kum-Ba-Ya and work on some projects and improvements to Camp Kum-Ba-Ya. This year the Work Retreat is on April 21-22. See Machel for more information.

Camp Kum-Ba-Ya: A huge highlight in our Youth program is the variety of camps that are offered each summer at KBY on beautiful Kentucky Lake. It is an unforgettable faith building experience that most of our Youth participate in each summer. If you are interested in providing a scholarship for a youth to attend camp, please contact the church office.

Youth Sunday: Each year, normally in the spring, our Youth organize & are completely in charge of a church service. They prepare everything from the sermon to the music. It is an amazing experience for EVERYONE.

Youth Group: Currently our youth groups have chosen to focus their activities on service projects throught the community. They have served at Paducah Cooperative Ministry Pantry, at Project Hope Pet Shelter, and have helped various members who are moving to pack and unpack belongings. Our youth are always looking for projects, so contact Leader, Machel Tuttle if you have suggestions.
